Remote Australia.
Outback Links is a nationwide service that commenced in 2005.
This program aims to connect the volunteer effort, which is available both within and outside the Church, with the needs of isolated families as identified by our patrol ministers and community services staff and by others.
This program is volunteer based and allows us to address some of the pressing short-term needs of people in remote areas as well as providing an opportunity for people to have an outback experience of service.
The program provides skilled and or gifted seniors, students, professionals, backpackers and others with a framework to register their interest and match their skills to situations in which they can provide support.
The program is unfunded and relies on the support of individual donors.
Over the next few months the Outback Links program will be on a temporary hiatus while we establish secure ongoing funding and work on making the program a truly national program.
