AIMdinnerPeople gathered not only to celebrate the past but to look to the future of ministry in remote Australia, at a special service yesterday, marking the final day of Centenary celebrations of the Australian Inland Mission (AIM) in Alice Springs.

The AIM Centenary Service took place at the John Flynn Memorial Church.

With the theme, Looking Back and Looking Forward, the service celebrated the work pioneered by John Flynn, and the establishment of the AIM in 1912 and also reflected on what it means to serve the people of the inland for the next 100 years.

The night before, more than 100 people attended the AIM Centenary Dinner on the lawns of Frontier Services Old Timers Aged Care Service.

The guests included a large number of people connected to the history of the AIM and Frontier Services, with many people travelling from across the country to be there.

It was the culmination of a week-long celebration in Alice Springs hosted by the Alice Springs Uniting Church held in conjunction with the National Trust’s Heritage Week.
