RCPFSTF0058Frontier Services is honoured to have Hon Tim Fischer AC at its Patron.

The former Deputy Prime Minister served in politics for 30 years, including as leader of the National Party and Minister for Trade in the Coalition. Born in the Riverina district of NSW, Mr Fischer has led an equally accomplished life as a farmer and author. In 2005, he was awarded a Companion of the Order of Australia (AC).

Mr Fischer has a long commitment to the work of Frontier Services in delivering equitable services and support in remote Australia.

He first became Patron for the organisation in 2002 and was Patron for seven years before he was assigned to serve as Australia’s first resident Ambassador to the Holy See. On his return from the Vatican, Mr Fischer resumed his role as Frontier Services Patron in 2012.

He played an important role in Centenary celebrations last year as Frontier Services celebrated 100 years of support for people in remote Australia and continues to provide support and encouragement for our work.

Mr Fischer’s empathy with the people of the outback and his love for remote Australia is well documented. He serves as Patron with genuine compassion and an excellent understanding of people who live in remote and isolated areas.
