Paul Hartmann Marketing Manager Graeme Shelley and Chief Financial Officer Gary Williamson have presented Frontier Services with a donation that will provide invaluable support to our work in remote Australia.
The money will pay for a Frontier Services/Hartmann entry into the 2012 Classic Outback Trial. The seven-day car trial navigates the diverse terrain of outback NSW and SA.
The event has raised valuable funds and much-needed awareness of Frontier Services as the charity partner for the three events in which Frontier Services has participated. This year, the Trial will be a part of the Centenary celebrations marking 100 years of support in remote Australia and Frontier Services will be an entrant, in partnership with Hartmann.
The competition captures some of the spirit and essence of the early round Australia trials, but without the extensive timeframes and expenses and has been a significant event in forming the valuable partnership between Hartmann and Frontier Services.
Five years ago, at the inaugural event, the Red Centre to Gold Coast Trial, the two teams met in a car park in Alice Springs. Sharing stories and the journey, the two groups became fast friends. A wonderful partnership which sees Hartmann supporting Frontier Services through the supply of continence and wound management products to remote services has developed.
The Centenary Classic Outback Trial will commence in Forbes NSW on 18 August 2012 with a prologue and welcome function, and will be followed by seven days of competition heading out west to Condobolin, Cobar and Broken Hill, and finishing up at Renmark. Competitors will drive approximately 400-500km per day, crossing NSW Forests and private properties, encompassing a variety of challenging terrains.
In 2012 the Classic Outback Trial will be running through three Frontier Services Patrol areas – the Broken Hill Patrol, the Cobar / Nyngan Patrol and the Sturt Patrol. Frontier Services staff and volunteers will provide breakfast for the drivers and crews each day and organise activities and support along the way.
Mr Shelly and Mr Williamson personally presented the donation to Frontier Services National Director RosemaryYoung in the National Office in Sydney yesterday. It more than covers the cost of the joint entry and further cements an exciting collaboration which is about supporting the people of remote Australia.
