Relief Appeal – Help those currently doing it really tough
Many of you will have seen in the media just how much people in Remote Australia are struggling. The country is experiencing the most severe weather conditions we’ve seen in a very long time.
Even as an organisation that specialises in providing support and care for Remote Australians, the images and stories being shared have been incredibly confronting. These extreme weather events are going to forever change whole communities.
We’re currently working with those affected. Some of the Farmers we’re talking to have lost everything, including their stock. They cannot even get out to bury them because access is cut off. Looking at how much of our country is currently in drought, flooded and on fire we ask is this the impact of climate change?
As we reflect on the large scale of loss we can only feel compassion for those caught in these disasters. We’re working hard to be part of the solution through our network of Bush Chaplains, who are continuing to provide practical, pastoral and spiritual care during this time of grief. Our amazing volunteers are also providing support where possible and getting ready to help with clean-up efforts.
This is a stark reminder that our Farmers are really doing it tough. You can make a difference to those struggling right now. We are preparing for the long haul – our disaster response will last for months, long after the media coverage.
You can support us in many ways, by giving a gift or volunteering your time and talents.
Your gift today will support our ongoing disaster relief efforts, and help people during this difficult time.
